Experiences on the Costa del Sol

Caminito del Rey

An aerial trail known as the Caminito del Rey was constructed in the Gaitanes Gorge’s gorge walls. It is a terraced route that runs alongside the gorge for 3 km in total, with a narrowest point of just 1 m. The route starts in Ardales, travels through Antequera, and ends at El Chorro (lora). About 100 meters above the river, this route hangs on the sheer gorge cliffs.

The boardwalk along the Gaitanes gorge is among El Caminito’s most well-known features. Everyone who sees this cantilever bridge, which is visible from the railroad, is impressed by both its daring construction and the gorgeous scenery that can be seen from there. A modest, charming bridge linking the promenade on both walls may be seen from the road connecting Lora with El Chorro, the Gorge’s entrance. The railroad from Cordoba to Málaga ends on the pedestrian walkway erected on the walls after leaving the bridge.
